2018 Presidents Day Weekend Events

2018 Presidents Day Weekend Events

Are you look for something to do during the President’s day weekend?  Well, here is what we have so far.

Calico Civil War Days

The Calico Civil War Days runs on February 17 and February 18, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Calico Ghost Town.  If you’re a history geek, like I am, you’ll love this event.  This event has shows, dancing, authentic artillery, battles, camps, and music. This is all set in an authentic silver town from the 1800’s.   If you’d like a good feeling of what the civil war was like, and a good history lesson to boot, this event is worth seeing.  The cost is $10.00 for adults, children 4 – 13 is $5.00, and is free for children 3 and under.  When we were there in 2015 parking filled up quick, so get an early start.

Little Women

Little Women will be playing at the High Desert Center for the Arts with two showing one at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 17 and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 18.  The cost is $16 for general admission and $14 for students, seniors, and military.  Tickets for the show are available at the Creative Arts Theater website.  This play follow the adventures of four sisters living through the civil war.  The musical is based on the writing of Louisa May Alcott actual life.  This play kinda goes hand in hand with Calico’s event.

Cirque Legacy

If you haven’t seen it yet, Cirque Legacy will still be going this weekend at the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds.  They have two days left: Saturday, February 17 at 1:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, February 18 at 1:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m.  From the description on their website this is a multi-generational circus, with particular aimed at the younger generation.  Tickets can be purchased in advance on Eventbright or at the door. The cost is between $15 and $30 dollars.
